Borland Database Engine (BDE)

You will need to have the Borland Database Engine (BDE) already installed on your system before the applications offered on this site will work. Previously, the BDE was included with the installation of each program, but to limit the size of the files needed to download and install multiple programs the BDE is now offered as a separate component. If you have installed any other programs from this site with more than 3 download "disks" then you already have it. You can also check to see if it is installed by going to your Control Panel and looking for an icon named "BDE Administrator". The absence of this icon does not mean the BDE is not installed but the presence of it is confirmation it is installed.

There are also different versions of the BDE in some products offered for download. A 16 bit version is included with Admin Assistant (including Shots) and Flight Tracker which will be upgraded to the 32 bit version if any of the other programs with more than 3 disks are installed.

The BDE is a redistributable component of the software offered on this site. It is not allowed to be distributed for any other use and is provided here as a way to limit the size of the application installation and upgrade files.
